The printmaking process is based on the principle of transferring ink from one marked surface to a receiving surface, thereby creating an image. This transferral is achieved through the application of controlled pressure. Most printmaking techniques allow for the reproduction of an image. I have worked with etching, linocut, monotype, monoprint, encaustic and screenprinting processes. Printmaking is a specialised process. I have worked in collaboration with printmakers at the David Krut Workshop, headed by Jillian Ross. These collaborations have enabled me to explore very technical printmaking, especially etching, with the editioned done by experts. I have also worked with printmaking in my own studio, through the encaustic process. This painterly approach to printmaking has enabled me to relate my printmaking process to my paintings process in a way that was not possible before.
